April 1... We performed on April fool's day for the Cabarrus County Law Enforcers Benefit, organized by promoter Earlene Hicks. We sang along with The Wishons and Deeper Shade of Blue. This year's event was held at the Kannapolis Middle School, due to construction at the high school.

April 9... We always love singing at Mount Hebron Wesleyan Church in Crooked Creek. This is the church where Grandpa Cockman preached some seventy years ago. It is also the home church of Jennifer's grandparents, who were children when Grandpa was pastor there. After the concert, we are always treated what is probably North Carolina's best pot luck dinner (coming from a seasoned veteran).

April 15... The Butterpats and I visited the Yadkinville Fiddlers Convention on Saturday evening, and we had a lot of fun listening and jamming. The girls won second and third place miscellaneous prize, and the were very excited about it. Nothing like a fiddler's convention ribbon to get some kids motivated with their music! |

April 23... Denton Wesleyan held their service in the local elementary school auditorium. After the service, we drove across town for a great pot-luck dinner, with bouncy-mats and lots of games for the kids. We will be back in Denton on May 11th for the Doyle Lawson music festival at the Denton Farm Park. |

April 29... Saturday morning we played at Center Methodist church to support our home-county relay for life. We couldn't have asked for a nicer day for singing outdoors; sunny and right at seventy degrees. We had a lot of fun and some homemade ice cream. We didn't get to stick around though, since we had to run over to Mount Anderson immediately after our set at Catawba.

April 29... I think everyone else had a hot dog at Center, but I played it smart and waited for the BBQ at Mount Anderson in Denver. We didn't have to set the sound, since our friend Michael Burke was there to do that for us. Mount Anderson is a growing church just moved into their new Sanctuary, and I was fortunate a get a tour of the new facility. The singing was a fundraiser for the building fund, and the BBQ was awesome. |

April 30... There was a great crowd for our singing at Pine Grove in Lugoff. After the concert, we were treated to *very* nice dinner in the fellowship hall. Aunt Sarah and Uncle Jack Myers made the trip up from Columbia to join us. |
