December 3... The Daniel Stowe Botanical Gardens were beautifully decorated for Christmas at the Annual Tree Lighting Holiday Gospel Festival.  We stood beside a 20-foot tree at 7:00 PM, and when they threw the switch, the gardens came alight and we sang "Joy to the World".  We then came inside for a concert in the main hall.  We also enjoyed a wonderful choir, and the ladies in our group were all envious of the glorious outfits of the Red-Hat Club!

December 11... As usual, we had a wonderful weekend at Lake Junaluska.  This year's concert at Stuart Auditorium was with Bob Carlisle and his touring buddy, the Fabulous Ed Thompson.  We sang all Christmas music, then enjoyed a humorous concert from Ed and "Butterfly Kisses" by Bob.  The highlight was the stay at the Terrace Inn across from Stuart Auditorium on the lake.  The kids had fun making crafts, David and Jessie found six inches of snow in the nearby mountains!

December 31... This year's Union County Law Enforcers Benefit Concert at Wingate was lots of fun.  We were with The Wishons as usual, and I thought their harmonies were the smoothest I had ever hear them.  Earlene Hicks was the MC, and the concert was in the beautiful George A. Battle Fine Arts Center.  We also enjoyed Zion's Hill, The Paradise Quartet, and the Mount Zion Quartet.  The special treat of the evening was six-year-old Rachel Love, with her exuberant renditions of gospel favorites.  Happy New Year everyone!
