May 3... Saturday night we joined the Miller Sisters from Newton, NC, and the Younce Brothers from Johnson City, TN, at a gospel concert at the Old Rock School in Valdese, NC. We have sung with both of these groups several times, but I think this was the first time we were all together. The concert was organized by Lanny Bumgarner, a great pedal steel player who sat in with the Younce brothers. |

May 4... We had a lot of fun at Pine Grove Baptist Church near (or not so near) Concord, NC. Pine Grove is the home church of Bruce Jones (of the Jones Brothers and the Log Cabin Boys), who contacted us about visiting after we performed with the Jones Bothers and Raymond Fairchild in Albemarle. Pastor Ray Rippy and congregation provided a very nice meal after the service! |

May 10... Congratulations David and Heather Cross! We were proud to see long-time neighbor and friend David finally tie the knot! Growing up, there were seven Crosses and five Cockmans, and we formed the prestigious "Crossman Club", whose main purpose was to build forts and antagonize Farmer Holdsclaw. David and Heather were married at Word of Truth Assembly in Newton, by pastor Glen Miller. Caroline, Billy, David, Ben and Timothy Cross performed "When You Say Nothing at All", and the Cockman Brothers played "Pastures New". |

May 17... Donna Moorefield and the staff at King's Cabin Salon & Day Spa hosted a customer appreciation day and tribute to the troops. Central Park in King, NC. Even though the concert was virtually rained out, we still had a good time singing with the Jackson Family from Rural Hall. The park was the perfect setting for an outdoor concert, a nd we only wish that the weather had been more favorable. Donna and family are to be commended for their effort to give back to their community. |

May 18... Pastor Ken Boaz invited us down to Boonville for a Sunday evening singing at Boonville Baptist Church. The church provided a nice meal before the concert. The concert featured the first ever performance of the Cockman Brothers Bell Choir! After the service, Jennifer, Arwen, Daystar and I headed down to Ocracoke for a vacation. |
