January 1... Once again, we got together with our friends The Wishons and Zion's Hill (formerly The Creator's) to bring in the New Year with Gospel Music at Wingate College below Charlotte, NC. The concert, which was organized and emceed by Earlene Hicks, benefited the county's Peace Officer's Association. The crowd was the biggest we've seen there.

January 11... This was about our third year or so to sing for our hometown volunteer fire department and rescue squad. The meeting was held in the Hopewell UMC community life center, and the meal was provided by the Methodist men. Last year the all had to run out to put out a fire, but this year only a few rescue workers had to leave to check on a sick child. We are grateful to the men and women of our community who give their time and talent for this honorable cause. |

January 18... We really enjoyed the BBQ and the Music of the Helms Quartet at Central Baptist Church near Matthews. Jeff Helms and the church had put lots of hard work into this concert, and it really showed! |

February 1... We sang in our hometown for Hopewell UMC's annual BBQ and chicken cookoff. The food was in the family life center, and the music was in the sanctuary. Caroline couldn't sing due a cold, but the Cockman brothers had a good time by themselves. Thanks to Darin Gantt for running the sound for us! |

February 15... Today was Arwen's birthday, and we were in Albemarle, NC, in concert with Raymond Fairchild and the Jones Brothers. We have known the Jones Brothers since a week after we began singing. They were with the Log Cabin Boys, of course. Raymond Fairchild is a North Carlolina banjo legend. It is kind of neat when you don't want to play "Whoa, Mule, Whoa" because the guy who wrote it is there. Along with his band, Raymond brought "Humphammer", a regular comedian at the Maggie Valley Opry, which Raymond runs with his wife. The emcee was Bobby Franklin, a DJ from WKXR in Asheboro. We had planned to be without Benjamin due to an eye surgery this week, but he cane and played sitting down in a chair. We appreciate his sacrifice! |

February 23... This was our third February in a row to sing a few miles from home in downtown Terrell, NC. Rehobeth UMC is where David and Jessie were married, and is the home church of many of our friends. The best part, of course, is the supper before the singing! Click
