April 5... Earlene Hicks invited us back to the annual gospel music fundraiser for the Cabarrus County Law Enforcement Officer's Association in Kannapolis. Last year, both Caroline and David weren't able to be with us, and we invited our friend and neighbor Timothy Cross to accompany us on bass and piano. But this year the whole gang was present to support the area's finest.

April 6... We were recently at Woodlawn Baptist at a benefit for cancer patient Derek Tester, and appreciated the church allowing us to use their facilities. This time the Church invited us for a Sunday night singing. Our high-school friends Derek Jones and Jason Johnson are ministers at the church. Rev. Michael Daughtrey, the music and worship pastor, made us feel right at home!

April 12... The 5th Annual Frolic on the Green at Central Piedmont Community College in Charlotte, NC, encompassed a variety of music including Folk, Blues, Jazz, Gospel and Bluegrass. There were storytellers, art & crafts booths and over 25 food, retail, artisan and information vendors on hand. I especially enjoyed the worlds largest playable guitars!

April 13... This year marks our ninth year visiting Whitsett Baptist Church. Our friendship with pastor Tim Stevens began when we met at Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, TN. We love this brother and his family, and always look forward to a concert at his church. We were forced to reschedule twice due to weather and Ben's eye surgery, but we were excited to finally make it to Whitsett Sunday night! April 14... We sang close to home Monday evening for Ball's Creek Elementary's Parent-Teacher meeting and open house. Kelly is the only one of us who attended Ball's Creek (the Cockmans terrorized Sherrill's Ford Elementary), so he reminisced and regaled us with stories of his school days. The staff served a great spaghetti dinner, and we enjoyed a karate exhibition!
