April 6-7 ... We made our second trip down to Savannah, and thankfully this one was not as eventful as the first.  We did see quite a few familiar faces, including Rev. Ralph Bailey from Trinity UMC, and our Aunt Eleanor, who works at the Piccadilly.  Danny Kramer, along with his wife and mother, make up The Encouragers, a great southern gospel group who hosted the concert in their home church.  This was Samuel's first long trip, and he was a perfect angel!  We sang Saturday night and Sunday morning.

April 13... Mended Wings was a fantastic quartet.  We enjoyed their song, "Soul Business".  Terry Beaver invited us to open for this great group, and we really enjoyed the night.  Terry even got up an sang a song with the group.  We felt a little rusty in one of our first concerts since baby Samuel, but the crowd was amazing and really helped pull the best out of us.

April 14... It was been a few years since we were at Whitman Park Baptist Church.  We were a little worn out from the previous night in Rockwell, but the congregation made us feel right at home.  It was a beautiful day for a singing, and we left charged up for the trip to Boone.

April 14... I love it when we sing so close to the house.  It's nice when everyone else has to drive an hour and a half while I'm at home sleeping for a change.  We were having bus problems, so we packed the sound system into Billy's truck.  Crossroads is a coffee shop located in the Student Union, and the atmosphere was pretty relaxed.  We were the first performers of Appalachian Heritage Week.

April 20... Once again we showed up to support the 4th Annual Johnny Tilley Memorial Festival.  We actually had a lot of fun working around two microphones and playing a little basketball in the  hot gym.  The stage was uncovered, so we all had to put on whatever funny hat we could find.  Check out Daddy in the middle picture below.

April 20... Thanks to everyone who showed up for our 8th Annual Gospel Concert at the Newton Conover Civics and Performance Place.  It was a success.  Special thanks to Aunt Margaret and Uncle Dwain for putting together the program brochure for us, and for Tommy and Kevin Deese for the concessions.  This year's concert featured the Younce Brothers from Johnson City, TN, pianist Timothy Cross, and emcee Jay White.  Caroline also sang a special duet with Timothy's wife, Faith.  We'll be in Elizabethton with the Younce Brothers and others on May 4th.
