June 7... Maiden Gospel Night was a lot of fun as we sang with the Southerners, a band from nearby.  There was a lot of good food and fellowship, as we once again closed off the street for a Thursday night festival gospel singing.

June 9... We found the camera!  We sang in West Jefferson, NC at the high school for Blue Ridge Electric's Annual Members Meeting.  There was a lot of good music, and around 1500 people in the auditorium as we sang up to the meeting.  Becky Roark entered her dad, Pastor Avery Roark, into the drawing, and he won $50.00!

June 16... Happy Birthday Grandma!  We celebrated Grandma Cockman's 90th Birthday at Hopewell United Methodist Church in Sherrill's Ford, NC, where grandpa preached and is buried.  There were plenty of representatives from the Kings (Grandma's maiden name) and the Cockmans, and lots of good food.  Thanks to Margaret and Dwain for the pictures!

June 16... We had a good singing outside the Battle Branch Cafe Saturday evening.  After we stuffed ourselves full, we joined Tommy Drifter outside for an evening of music.  We particularly enjoyed Tony Crowe, an evangelist and singer from Dunkirk Ohio.

June 17... We sang mostly traditional hymns at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Rockwell, NC.  This beautiful old church was organized in 1895, and we could really feel the history.  We enjoyed the people, and made it out in time for lunch at the Mooresville Cracker Barrel -- one of our favorite stops!

June 23-24... This was the best Singing on the Mountain I have yet to attend.  The weather was great (a little cold), the view was great, and the sound system wasn't too shabby either (at last!)  Hugh Morton once again invited us up on his mountain for the 77th Singing.  The Greenes were the host band, and the singing featured many Southern Gospel greats such as Michael Combs and the Primitive Quartet.  We especially enjoyed our friends Arthur Smith and George Hamilton IV, and country-turned-gospel singer Barbara Fairchild with husband Roy Morris from Branson, MO.  Plus we got to meet racing legend Bobby Allison (not a singer), and inspirational speaker Zig Ziglar (also not a singer).  In addition to the Sunday Singing, we set up out PA and sang for the campers on Saturday night.
