November 3... We sang for the first time at the Billy Graham Training Center at the Cove today.  We had always heard about what a nice place it was, but we were still awed by the beautiful buildings on the scenic 1500 acres near Asheville.  We sang for a group of Christian attorneys (not the oxymoron most people believe it to be) called the Peacemakers, who are based out of Montana.  We particularly enjoyed the Christian drama and comedy of "Peculiar People", a husband and wife team from Nashville, TN, and the great BBQ served in the banquet hall.

November 4... What is it about bluegrass and BBQ?  Somehow they go hand in hand.  We pigged out again at the First Presbyterian of Monroe, NC.  Then we had a wonderful singing in the sanctuary.  "Peculiar People", the group we met at the Cove (see above), were Presbyterian and joked about the stereotypical sedateness of their denomination.  But this group was anything but!  We had a great time, especially when the Johnsons and Barkers showed up to help out!

November 5... For the sixth or seventh year running, we visited Hickory Chapel Wesleyan Church near High Point, NC.  We saw many faces that we recognized, and knew that we were in for one of the best homecoming meals in the south!  I broke the fingerboard off my fiddle, but fortunately Pastor Caldwell had just what we needed to fix it.  Click here to see last year's pictures taken at Hickory Chapel!

November 12... We had a great time again at Second Baptist in Lancaster, SC.  It was old fashioned day and many were wearing old fashioned clothes and driving old-timey cars.  The Cockmans, who also wear old clothes and drive old cars, fit right in.  We sang for the two morning services then came back after lunch for an afternoon singing.  Click here to see pictures taken last year at Second Baptist (warning... these pictures are OLD.)!

November 19... We sang at First Baptist Church in Hildebran today to benefit Paulette Wright.  She is a cancer patient at Duke Medical Center, and in in Intensive Care.  This all day event, which featured singing and food, culminated in an evening concert in the sanctuary.  Timothy Cross was the MC, and along with the Cockman Family were the Younce Brothers from Elizabethton, TN, and the Hayes Family from Boone, NC.  Over $2,700 was raised to aid Mrs. Wright.

November 20... Today we made our annual November trip into southern Virginia.  We sang Sunday morning at New Testament Baptist Church.  The pastor is J. E. Edwards.  We always enjoy the food and fellowship at New Testament, and this year they were in their new Family Life Center!  Click here for last November's pictures at New Testament.

November 20... Sunday night we were once again at Penn Forest Wesleyan Church in Roanoke.  Even though it had been a long weekend, this small but appreciative crowd really energized us.  And best of all, we met afterward in the fellowship hall for ice cream sundaes and pizza!  Click here for last November's pictures at Penn Forest.

November 23... It was almost like a family reunion at the Assembly Inn's "Thanksgiving at the Inn" conference in Montreat, NC.  Grandma Cockman was there, along with Aunt Mary and Uncle Darl Fowler, Aunt Margaret and Uncle Dwain Kitchel, Dwain's daughter Elizabeth and her friend Todd, and Aunt Ginny and Uncle Jack Speaks.  After the concert Wednesday night we enjoyed some food and fellowship with the family in Dwain and Margaret's room.  Thursday we were given a fabulous Thanksgiving meal by the Inn, then enjoyed a short visit with Montreat residents Carlene and George Beverly Shea.
