May 6... We got our fill of "Jack tales" today at the Murray's Mill Storytelling Festival.  This two day event featured some great music and storytelling.  It is always great to tour this beautiful historic grist mill and general store.  If you are ever in Catawba, NC, be sure to stop by!

May 7... Today was homecoming day for First Wesleyan, and our fifth homecoming in a row here.  By now we feel like family members!  It was nice to see all our old friends.  Jennifer's Parents, Aubrey and Elizabeth Riley, drove all the way down from Boone to visit.

May 7... We were real close to heaven this afternoon.  The mountains were so beautiful!  Bethel Baptist is kicking off a week long revival, with special events each night.  Alan Brown stopped by for the second time this weekend to make sure everything went smoothly.  I got to see my friend (and former boss) Jack Love, and our friends Don and Meg Eggleston also stopped by!

May 14... It has become an annual occurrence for the Cockman Family to appear at  Milford Hills UMC on Mother's Day.  We were invited by our cousin Sylvia Lail who prepared dinner for us after the singing.  We then went to Greensboro to visit Grandma Cockman on this special day, before making the trek to Hiddenite Sunday evening.

May 14... We finally got to visit Mark Wankle's church in Hiddenite, NC.  We sang for the Sunday evening service.  It was also great to see pastor Sam Valini again, and to sing for all the folks at Freedom Baptist.  The service closed out their week-long revival.

May 19... There were over 6,000 people in attendance at the Randolph County Relay for Life in Asheboro, NC.  The walk, which took place on the football field of the senior high school, was sponsored by the American Cancer Society.  Having recently lost an uncle and a grandfather to cancer, we were especially empathetic to this cause.  The Cockman Family sang from 8:50 PM to 9:30 PM.

May 21... We sang at Providence Baptist Church for a church picnic on the grounds.  There was a covered dish dinner and bbq chicken immediately after the service.  Our friends Alan and Vonnie Brown came by, as well as the Quinn family.  After the concert we visited South Park Mall while we waited for our concert at Sharon Presbyterian.

May 21... Sunday evening we sang at Sharon Presbyterian Church.  The church prepared supper and home-made ice cream before the concert.  The concert was held in the church gymnasium, and the congregation was a great one to sing to.  We even got to play a little basketball after we sang!
