December 1... We sang at Happy Valley Church of Jesus Christ in Elizabethton, TN, in a benefit concert for Brother Robert Wiggins.  There were many great singers present, including the Younce Brothers and Pastor Donny Reagan.  After the concert we met in the fellowship hall for supper.

December 2... Today we sang to benefit the Iredell County Hospice.  Hospice has done so much for us and for other families in our community, and we were thrilled to be able to do something for them.  We were invited by Phillip Tillman, Chaplain of Iredell Hospice.  The concert was held in the Community Life Center of First Baptist Church.  In attendance was Grandma Cockman, who was brought by our Aunt Ginny and some of her friends.

December 6... We played at beautiful Camp Dogwood, the Lions Club camp for the blind on Lake Norman in our community of Sherrill's Ford, NC.  In the past we have done much for the Lion's Club at Camp Dogwood, including a concert for the Special Olympic Athletes.  The Lions Club is a worthy organization who do much for the visually impaired.  We we sing for their state-wide meeting in 2001.

December 9... We got to meet Goober!  After we sang at Lake Junaluska, George Lindsey gave a great comedy routine.  We're all big Andy Griffith Show fans, and seeing Goober in person was very exciting.  We really enjoyed this evening of family humor and nostalgia.

December 15... Brother Pollard and congregation put together a fine Christmas party at the Gateway Convention Center in Hickory, North Carolina.  Brother Pollard is the pastor of Revealed Word Tabernacle in Lenoir, NC.  Besides being a good preacher he knows a ton of "married" jokes.  We had a great time eating and fellowshipping with our old friends the Holden family.

December 23... Jerry Story and friends cooked a huge BBQ for New Life Baptist Church, and the Cockmans came by Saturday night to eat and sing.  David was with Jessie in Nebraska and Caroline was sick, so we recruited some extra pickers, put daddy on the bass, and had a jubilee!

December 31... Once again we traveled to Wingate,  where we rang in the new year with some great gospel music.  Along with the Cockman Family were the Wishons, the Briarhoppers, the Log Cabin Boys, and On Bended Knee.  Earlene Hicks coordinated this event, which benefited the Union County Sheriffs Association.
